The Disco Biscuits Plot Livestream From Philadelphia Phillies’ Ballpark
The ballpark in Philadelphia will be open for at least one day next week when The Disco Biscuits play a free livestream event at Citizens Bank Park on June 23.
“The Disco Biscuits Take You Out To The Ball Game” will be streamed at 7:45 p.m. ET from the infield dirt at the ballpark. The event is being carried out in partnership with the Phillies, Citizens Bank Park and Live Nation, and will solicit donations with all proceeds benefitting the PLUS1 For Black Lives Fund.
Live Nation became connected to the event and provided additional support when organizers decided to dedicate the event to raising funds to combat racism and violence against the Black Community in the U.S. The Phillies have provided jerseys for The Disco Biscuits, the use of Phanavision, an introduction from iconic announcer Dan Baker, and other elements to provide the look and feel of a baseball game.
PLUS1 CEO and Founder Marika Shaw has previously spoken atPollstar Live! PLUS1 essentially allows organizers to add $1 to each ticket price for a charitable cause and in 2017 the organization had raised more than $7 million over 3,500 shows.
The Disco Biscuits are from Philadelphia and grossed $348,699 on 7,411 tickets for four shows at The Fillmore Philadelphia at the end of 2018.
Livestreaming has become more and more of a part of the music business since the COVID-19 pandemic has forced the shutdown of the live entertainment business. This week’s Pollstar cover story focused on how 11E1even Group grossed $600,000 through its livestream business.
