Event Producer Dan Parise Dies Of Cardiac Arrest

Event Producer Dan Parise, who founded Diversified Production Services and over the years worked with Live Nation and many live events, died of cardiac arrest on Aug. 24, sources have confirmed with Pollstar. He was 61.

The Grammy and Emmy-award nominated industry vet started his career more than 30 years ago and over the years worked with Global Citizen Festival, Made In America, The Super Bowl, iHeart Radio Festival, Z100’s Jingle Ball, and the massive Yankee Stadium concert from JAY-Z and Eminem.

Parise started his career with Metropolitan Entertainment in New York and was bought up by SFX, which then became Live Nation. He also worked with the Grateful Dead from 1989-94 when he produced the High Gate Vermont concert series.

At Live Nation Parise was Director of Production, and went on to create the company’s Special Events division, which produced the 25th anniversary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concerts, A Concert for Hurricane Katrina Relief, and 12-12-12: A Concert for Sandy Relief.

“One of the most respected television and live concert production experts, the multi-award nominated industry veteran, started his career over 30 years ago. Dan represented the best of us. He worked with the greats including JAY-Z, Eric Clapton, Oprah Winfrey, Pearl Jam and Eddie Vedder,” Roc Nation said in a statement. “He committed his life to his family at home and his family on the road, making each one of us better with each show. From working with Dave Matthews to Michelle Obama to Keith Richards, his mark on the entertainment and broadcast world will be felt for generations to come.”

In an interview with SST Studios & Rentals Parise said some of his most meaningful memories of working in the concert industry came from special events, including The Concert For New York after 9/11. 

He founded his own company, Diversified Production Services, in 2011, bringing along Dave Meyers, Chris Balogh, Hans Polleman, Carly Vaknin, Cheryl Alper and Randi Blattberg. The team produced Z100’s Jingle Ball, Bamboozle and NFL’s Kickoff and Super Bowl events, operating out of New Jersey.
