‘Farm Aid On The Road’ Free Virtual Fest To Feature More Than 20 Artists

Farm Aid’s 35th anniversary will be celebrated with a free, virtual at-home festival, “Farm Aid 2020 On The Road,” a three-hour special Sept. 26 featuring performances from more than 20 artists.

Broadcast live on AXS TV and streamed from farmaid.org from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. EDT, the festival will feature the usual Willie Nelson and the Boys, John Mellencamp, Neil Young, Dave Matthews, along with Black Pumas, Brandi Carlile, Bonnie Raitt, Boz Scaggs, Chris Stapleton, Jack Johnson, Margo Price, The War And Treaty, and more to be added according to the announcement.
“This pandemic and so many other challenges have revealed how essential family farmers and ranchers are to the future of our planet,” Willie Nelson says in the announcement. “Farm Aid 2020 is going to give the whole country a chance to learn about the important work of farmers and how they’re contributing to our well-being, beyond bringing us good food.”
The performance follows the “At Home With Farm Aid” virtual event that took place in April.
The long-running Farm Aid benefit concerts have been an institution, with the organization for more than three decades working diligently to to build a dynamic family farm-centered agricultural system benefiting both big and small farming operations.
 
Boxoffice reports submitted to Pollstar in recent years include 2018 at Xfinity Theatre in Hartford, Conn., which grossed $1.8 million and sold just shy of 23,000 tickets, 2017’s Burgettstown, Pa., event at S&T Bank Music Park ($1.5 million) and 2016’s Bristow, Va., stop at Jiffy Lube Live, which grossed $1.4 million and sold 19,020 tickets.
