Dave Grohl, Trouble Funk’s Big Tony and 9:30 Club Owner Seth Hurwitz To Celebrate 9:30’s 40th Anniversary With Pollstar Live! Digital Session

From its original location in rat-infested downtown Washington, D.C., location to internationally-recognized icon at the top of Pollstar’s 2019 venue charts, this year the 9:30 Club is celebrating its 40th anniversary.

Along the way everyone from James Brown, Prince and Bob Dylan to Willie Nelson, Iggy Pop, Loretta Lynn to Public Enemy, Nirvana and Adele have graced its stages.

In honor of the Big 4-0, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, Trouble Funk’s Big Tony and The Slickee Boys’ Mark Noone  who’ve been playing the 9:30 Club for a lifetime  will take part in Wednesday’s edition of Pollstar Live! Digital Sessions for a riveting roundtable, along with Seth Hurwitz, chairman of I.M.P. and owner of the 9:30 Club, I.M.P’s Donna Westmoreland,  9:30 Club’s Jen Hass, I.M.P.’s Audrey Fix Schaefer and 9:30 Club’s Karim Karefa. The participants will be interviewed by Andy Gensler, executive editor of Pollstar and VenuesNow.

Naturally, the Digital Session is scheduled Wednesday, Sept. 30  aka 9/30  at 2:00 p.m. ET/11:00 a.m. PT. The roundtable streams live at facebook.com/pollstar.

In addition to discussing the club’s storied history and its success as an independent venue, the roundtable will also chat about what can be done to save our treasured venues that are facing closures.
