Gary Spivack-Produced ‘Long Live Rock’ Doc Shares Trailer

While rock shows may sometimes feel like a distant memory during the COVID-19 pandemic, the upcoming documentary “Long Live Rock … Celebrate The Chaos” is delving into the live side of a genre that is still very much alive.

Directed by Jonathan McHugh and produced by Gary Spivack and Jonathan Platt, the trailer teases a love letter to the rock show, with shots from shows and interviews with members of Metallica, Halestorm, Korn, Five Finger Death Punch, Rob Zombie, Godsmack, Slipknot, Greta Van Fleet, Tom Morello and many more.

The documentary is slated for release on March 12, 2021, but will premiere online on March 11 with a global screening event that features a Q&A with the filmmakers and surprise guests.

Gary Spivack knows the genre of rock very well, as he is the Executive Senior VP of Talent & Curation  for Danny Wimmer Presents, a major player in the rock festival game [though DWP is not affiliated with the film at all and this is an entirely independent venture for Spivack].

Spivack was also in charge of booking the lineup for Woodstock 50, which was definitely stacked, although the event never did end up taking place.

And rock shows will be back, as DWP recently announced its 2021 festival calendar that includes Inkcarceration, Louder Than Life, Aftershock and Welcome To Rockville.
