“All of us are devastated for the loss of our dear friend, colleague and Partner, Josh Humiston,” APA CEO Jim Gosnell said in making the announcement. “Our hearts go out to his beloved wife, Jaime, their two daughters, Isabella and Juliana, and the entire Humiston family.
“Josh was a unique and exceptional agent who was fiercely passionate and loyal to his clients and this company for 26 years. A much-loved member of our APA family, he wore his heart on his sleeve and would fight equally as hard for his clients as he did his colleagues. He will be extremely missed by all of us, as well as the music community in which he served.”
The company’s statement continues: “Known for his unwavering passion, loyalty and devotion for family (especially his two daughters), friends, colleagues and clients, many of whom fondly characterized him as ‘a force of nature,’ Humiston was born on March 18, 1972 in Santa Monica, CA. After graduating from Beverly Hills High School, he attended Boston University, a private research university in Boston, MA, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Humiston began his entertainment career working in the mailroom at APA in 1995. He was promoted to VP of Concerts in 2001, responsible for developing and overseeing the agency’s modern rock department, before being named Partner in 2007.”
Humiston is survived by his wife, Jaime Kelsall Humiston; daughters Isabella and Juliana; “Mom”, Jan Gamson Tanner; “Dad”, Robert Humiston; sister, Alison Humiston; brother, Matthew Humiston; sister-in-law, Lisa Humiston; and nieces Mila and Rachel Humiston. He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Ed and Doris Gamson.
Because of COVID-19 restrictions, a funeral for immediate family will take place Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Hillside Memorial Park, with a celebration of his life to be scheduled for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Josh’s favorite personal charity, Andrew McMahon’s Dear Jack Foundation, benefiting adolescents and young adults diagnosed with cancer in order to improve quality of life and create positive health outcomes from treatment to survivorship for patients and their families.
