Modest Mouse Unveils Routing for Summer/Fall 2021 North American Tour

– Modest Mouse
Isaac Brock of Modest Mouse performs at Little Caesars Arena on October 4 in Detroit, Mich.

Modest Mouse has new headline dates to go along with the indie rock band’s upcoming album and previously announced festival appearances at Chicago’s Lollapalooza, Las Vegas’ Life is Beautiful and Austin City Limits.

The Golden Casket is due out June 25 via Epic Records, marking the band’s seventh-studio album and first new full-length since 2015’s Strangers to Ourselves. The LP is described as hovering “in the liminal space between raw punk power and experimental studio science.” The subject matter explores “the degradation of America’s psychic landscape through the glass of the smartphone screen and invisible technology,” as well as touching on frontman Isaac Brock’s new role as a father.  The album was produced with Dave Sardy and Jacknife Lee in Los Angeles and in Modest Mouse’s studio in Portland. The band released “Leave a Light On,” its second single from the album today. Check out the official visualizer for the tune below.
Following Lollapalooza, the band’s North American headline plans begin July 30 at The Sylvee in Madison, Wis. Stops on the routing include Brooklyn Steel, The Anthem in D.C., The Masonic in San Francisco, Fillmore New Orleans, Hard Rock Live in Orlando. Modest Mouse has also lined up a handful of dates with Future Islands including Marymoor Park in Seattle; Red Rocks in Morrison, Colo.; Diamond Ballroom in Oklahoma City; Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville; and Andrew J Brady ICON Music Center in Cincinnati.
Tickets for the tour go on sale Wednesday, May 26 at 10 a.m. local time.
Modest Mouse spent fall 2019 supporting The Black Keys. Headline reports submitted to Pollstar’s Boxoffice include an Oct. 17, 2018 show in Columbia, S.C., at Township Auditorium that sold 1,850 tickets and grossed $83,250.
