BlackStream Live Partners With Visit Philadelphia For Concert Series

Shawn Gee’s BlackStream Live channel is partnering with the Love + Grit podcast and the Visit Philadelphia tourism marketing agency for the new Love + Grit Concert Series, to be streamed exclusively on Twitch.

The series will feature performances and interviews from Philly artists and will debut on June 1 at 7 p.m. EST to kick off Black Music Month, which started in Philadelphia in 1979. It will be hosted by Paige Shari and will feature performances from Armani White, Brianna Castro, KidtheGreat, Jermaine Dolly, Mamba Cinco, Joie Kathos, Mizz PnB, and more.

“There cannot be any affirmation about the cultural dynamism of music without mentioning the city of Philadelphia,” Brandon Pankey of BlackStream Live and Live Nation Urban said in a statement. “The ability to showcase the next generation of artistry from Philly while highlighting the historical significance of Black Music Month made it an absolute no-brainer for BlackStream Live to partner with VISIT PHILADELPHIA for the Love + Grit Concert Series.”

There will initially be six episodes and the series was executive produced by Taalib-Din of Identity Ink. Live Nation and Live Nation Urban are also partnering on the series, with regional President of Live Nation Philly Geoff Gordon and SVP of Live Nation Philly Jon Hampton playing integral roles in bringing the deal to fruition.

Some of the artists featured on the concert series will also appear on the Love + Grit podcast. 

BlackStream Live founder Shawn Gee was recently recently named to Pollstar’s Impact 50 list. 

Earlier this year, Brandon Pankey also recently founded his own new video network, called Artist Presented Experiences.
