Summer Camp Announces Final Lineup For ’21: Second Billy Strings Set, Subtronics, Death Kings & More

Summer Camp Music Festival’s in-person 20th anniversary may have been put on hold in 2020, but the jam festival is back to make up for it in a big way, with recent additions for Aug. 20-22 in Chillicothe, Ill., including a second Billy Strings set.

Also added the event, known as the festival home for jam staples Moe. and Umphrey’s Mcgee, are Dirty Heads, Subtronics, Death Kings (Ryan Stasik, Mike Gantzer, & Mikey Carubba), Ghost-Note, Karina Rykman, KellerSquabi, lespecial, Maggie Rose, MonoNeon, Saxsquatch and still more.
The outdoor camping event, which takes place at Three Rivers Park,  will this year feature three nights of both Moe. and Umphrey’s, along with Ween, Three 6 Mafia, Griz, Rezz, STS9, Tipper, and many others, such as The Floozies, Lettuce, Manic Focus, Scarypoolparty and still more from the originally planned 2020 lineup.
Three-day GA Passes, Volunteer Deposits, and a limited amount of VIP Upgrades are still available at SummerCampFestival.com/tickets.  More information about late-night shows in the Red Barn, Thursday pre-party lineup, VIP Lounge Lineup and more are promised soon.
Although the in-person 2020 shindig was unable to take place, the May 22-24 “Virtual Festival: A 20 Year Retrospective” took place via Live X Live, hosted by Andy Frasco and Jonathan Schwartz, featuring featuring a mix of live and pre-recorded performances, workshops, panel discussions, live Q&A’s and interviews along with throwback sets from the past.
“What I think really shines through about Summer Camp is really that family spirit that we’ve had since year one,” festival producer Ian Goldberg told Pollstar ahead of last year’s virtual event. “Once you’re in, you feel like you’re at home for the weekend. It really is a callback to the old-style festival, the European camping style or even Woodstock and things like that. We’re able to re-create that vibe, and luckily people still connect with it.”
