The Black Keys Announce Three-Show ‘World Tour Of America’ Sept. 20-23

The shows are Sept. 20 at The Classic Center in Athens, Ga.,  (2,000 capacity), Sept. 21 at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg, Fla., (2,000 capacity), and Sept. 23 at The Lyric in Oxford, Miss., (1,200 capacity).  Promised for each intimate show for the arena-headlining band are songs from the band’s new album Delta Kream, a collection of 11 Mississippi hill country blues songs that was released on May 14.  

The band apparently hopes to make these shows a tradition.

“Dan (Auerbach)  and I have joked about doing a tour of American cities named after other cities in the world since we were touring together in a van,” Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney says in the announcement. “It feels like now is as good a time as any, and we are excited to play in some places we haven’t played since the early days of the band and for fans that have not had a chance to see us in a while.” 

Tickets for these dates will go on sale July 23 at 10 a.m. 

The Black Keys have also announced that they will partner with the Save The Music Foundation to support elementary and middle school music programs in Mississippi—starting with Holly Springs. 

Fans can participate in a sweepstakes to win a once-in-a-lifetime experience with the band, with 100% of the proceeds going towards music education grants in seven schools across Mississippi.

Pilgrimage Music Festival in Franklin, Tenn., takes place Sept. 25-26, topped by Dave Matthews Band, The Black Keys, Maren Morris, Cage The Elephant, Khruangbin, and Black Pumas.
