Creamfields Goes South: New 50,000-Cap UK Camping Festival Launches 2022

The festival launches a second edition further south of England next year.

Cream Group, promoter of the UK’s long-standing Creamfields electronic music festival, is launching a second festival under the same brand in the south of England: Creamfields Chelmsford, which is set to take place at Hylands Park, June 3-4, 2022.

The premiere of Creamfields Chelmsford will have a capacity of 50,000, and offer camping. No lineup has been announced yet, but there’ll be multiple stages, including the 12,000-capacity Steel Yard superstructure from the original Creamfields in Daresbury.
The launch of Creamfields Chelmsford will coincide with the 25th anniversary of the original Creamfields in 2022. 

This year’s 24th edition is sold out, Aug. 26-29. The lineup includes the finest in EDM, from A like Adam Beyer or Armin van Buuren to Z like Zatox. TiĆ«sto, Martin Garrix, Charlotte de Witte, David Guetta, Carl Cox, Deadmau5 and many more feature on the bill as well.

The superstructure will also feature at the new event, Creamfields Chelmsford.

The Creamfields flagship event usually attracts some 70,000 visitors to the scenic countryside of Cheshire, England, where Daresbury is located.

Since its inception in the UK in 1998, Creamfields has become one of the biggest electronic music festivals in the world. Calvin Harris, Swedish House Mafia, Eric Prydz, Bicep LIVE, Chase & Status, Pendulum and The Chemical Brothers have all performed there in the past.
The brand has launched several international spin offs worldwide, with shows staged in Chile, Abu Dhabi, Ibiza, Malta, Argentina, Peru, Hong Kong and multiple cities across China to name a few.
