Million Dollar Piano Man Billy Joel Leads LIVE75 Chart

Billy Joel is new at No. 1 and the HEAVY HITTER on this week’s LIVE75 chart, with an average gross of $5 million on two recent stadium shows. The Piano Man averaged 38,679 tickets between the two shows, with an eye-popping 42,013 tickets and $5.2 million grossed Aug. 14 at Bills Stadium in Orchard Park, N.Y.
Joel has a couple other big shows on the books, with the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, set for Sept. 10 and the Germania Insurance Super Stage in Austin, Texas, Oct. 23, along with scheduled regular monthly Madison Square Residency shows in November, December, and into next year.
Some of the new entries on this week’s chart are Old Dominion, with two big shows averaging more than 6,800 tickets, The String Cheese Incident averaging 6,687 tickets over five shows, and former Hootie frontman Darius Rucker, who is averaging 4,747 tickets on two shows, reporting an average gross of $220,494.
Showing the variety of current artists reporting new boxoffice to Pollstar, KLOVE Presents Live At Red Rocks / Casting Crowns is also new, at No. 6, with the Christian group reporting two shows and averaging more than 8,000 tickets, produced by Awakening Events / Jeff Roberts & Associates.
