Billy Joel holds at No. 1 on the LIVE75 chart for a second consecutive week with a ticket average of 38,679 from two of the stadium performances on his summer schedule, an Aug. 4 concert at Boston’s historic Fenway Park followed by an Aug. 14 show at the Orchard Park, N.Y., home of the NFL’s Buffalo Bills. He also makes a second stand as HEAVY HITTER with his $5 million gross average, the highest of the week.
Two country superstars follow with debut chart appearances at Nos. 2 and 3 – the first, Chris Stapleton who ranks second with the HOT SHOT tag. His average-ticket count totals 14,827 from a run of nine concerts at American amphitheaters. With 133,450 tickets sold at all shows, the best-attended single performance was an Aug. 14 concert in the Washington, D.C. market. He drew 21,211 fans for a sellout at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Va.
Then, from 11 shows stateside, Luke Bryan scores the No. 3 chart position with a 14,267-ticket average. Philadelphia-area fans gave the two-time CMA Entertainer of the Year his largest headcount with 21,162 fans in attendance at BB&T Pavilion in Camden, N.J., on Aug. 8. From 18 reported shows on his summer tour so far, he’s logged a total ticket count of 273,478.
