Consumer response to the Australian and New Zealand leg of Billie Eilish’s “Happier Than Ever World Tour” have been strong enough for second shows to be added to each city on the schedule.
The shows Down Under now number 10. Chugg Entertainment, Frontier Touring and Live Nation made the decision an hour after pre-sales opened.
Eilish plays a second date at Auckland’s Spark Arena Sept. 9.
Four new shows were added in Australia. These were Sept. 14 at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena, Sept. 18 at Brisbane Entertainment Centre, Sept. 23 at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena and Sept. 30 at Perth’s RAC Arena.
Consumer response was not surprising. Australia was one of four countries where her 2017 debut EP Don’t Smile At Me charted. She followed up with club dates in Australia and New Zealand.
She returned as part of Laneway festival in 2018 playing to 100,000.
A year later, she was part of Groovin’ The Moo also to 100,000. Four headline dates in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Fremantle put her before another 24,215, grossing US$1.13 million.
An arena show in Auckland was to a crowd of 9,340 and grossing $456,046.
Recently, the teenager spoke to New Zealand radio station ZM. She admitted she has a lot of perks as a famous musician, but “none of them are really worth it” without playing shows.
