Get ready to bust out the party hats. The Marshall Tucker Band has released the first leg of dates for its 50th anniversary tour. The celebration stars Jan. 12 with a show at Dosey Doe in The Woodlands, Texas.

Since being founded in Spartanburg, S.C., five decades ago, the Southern rock band has sold millions of albums, with 5X Gold and 3X Platinum certifications. The band’s beloved hits include “Can’t You See,” “Heard It in a Love Song,” “Fire on the Mountain,” and “24 Hours At a Time.” The band’s accolades over the years include its 1973 self-titled debut album being named No. 5 on Gibson Guitar’s list of the Greatest Southern Rock Albums and the single “Can’t You See” as the No. 1 Southern Rock Song according to Ultimate Classic Rock.
“Five decades of The Marshall Tucker Band … sometimes it’s still hard to understand,” MTB lead singer Doug Gray said in a statement. “We are just regular people. The fans have given us so many special moments over these 50 years. I’m so proud of our band.”
Gray added, “Our special songs, guided by the lyrics of Toy Caldwell, have given us a deep emotional connection with our fans and friends. We love you all and can’t wait to see you on the road in 2022.”
The Marshall Tucker Band has announced more than 30 live dates, with select gigs featuring Dave Mason. The Kentucky Headhunters, The Outlaws, Firefall and Bertie Higgins also appear on select dates. Plus, MTB has a round of shows supporting Kansas and Alabama.
Recent MTB dates reported to Pollstar’s Boxoffice include a sold-out Oct. 15, 2021, show at Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown, N.J., that sold 1,258 tickets and grossed $76,687.
