The tour will make a stop at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif., June 9 before hitting amphitheaters in earnest including stops in Salt Lake City, Denver, Kansas City, Dallas, Cincinnati, Tampa and other markets through July 26, when the caravan winds down in Clarkston, Mich., at DTE Energy Music Theatre.
Wilson, considered one of the founding fathers of California pop as a founder of the Beach Boys, changed rock music with his novel approaches to pop composition, extraordinary musical aptitude, and mastery of recording techniques, and is widely acknowledged as one of the most innovative and significant songwriters of the 20th century.
In addition to his induction into the Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall Of Fame, he’s a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame and has won two Grammy Awards and the Ivor Novello Award.
Chicago has sold over 100 million records, making them one of the best selling music groups of all time. This “rock and roll band with horns” found success with their original sound of pop and rock fusion and has had 21 Top 10 singles, 5 consecutive No. 1 albums, 11 No. 1 singles and five Gold singles.
Chicago’s lifetime achievements include two Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and an induction of its original members into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
