Spoon
Spoon is planning to hit the road starting this April in support of their upcoming album, Lucifer On the Sofa. Kicking off at the House of Blues Boston on Apr. 6 and wrapping up at The Van Buren in Phoenix on June 4, the 18-date trek will include support from Margaret Glaspy and Geese.
Ahead of their full Lucifer On the Sofa tour, the band will have a one-off performance at The Observatory in Santa Ana, Calif. Additional stops will see Spoon playing in Washington, D.C., New York, Detroit, Denver, Los Angeles, and more.
Margaret Glaspy will be joining the band from the tour’s kick-off in Boston until their stop in Wilmington, N.C., with Geese accompanying Spoon for six dates starting in Denver and ending in Phoenix.
Lucifer On the Sofa is slated to arrive on Feb. 11 via Matador Records, with Spoon’s upcoming tour dates due to see them performing tracks from the new record. The band first began recording the new album in late 2018, with its release pushed back a year due to COVID-19. After postponing the release of their 10th studio album, Spoon released covers of two Tom Petty songs, “Breakdown” and “A Face in the Crowd.” Lucifer On the Sofa serves as the follow-up to 2017’s Hot Thoughts.
Spoon was able to hit the road last fall and joined St. Vincent on select dates in Paso Robles, Calif. and Berkeley, Calif. They also had their own headlining performances, including at Slowdown in Omaha, Neb. on Sept. 9 and the State Theatre in Portland, Maine on Oct. 18, which grossed more than $21,000 and $39,000, respectively.
Tickets for the upcoming tour go on sale starting on Jan. 21.
