Last year, Ubbi Dubbi had been the first large festival to take place in the United States since the world’s first shutdown due to COVID-19. A study found that the festival had a lower positivity rate than the general population, with 3.8% of attendees testing positive, according to a sample of more than 2,000 survey respondents. The figure was lower than the COVID infection rate at the time among those tested in Texas, which was 3.5%-4%.
This year’s event will also see CloZee’s ODYZEY label serving as one of these stage hosts. Gravitas Recordings will also host a stage takeover for the camping stage, with a lineup primarily featuring local Texas DJs.
“The Gravitas Stage was initially on our 2020 lineup, but we unfortunately had to cancel the event, founder and CEO of Disco Donnie Presents, James “Donnie Donnie” Estopinal, Jr. said in a statement. “I’ve been really excited about this stage concept and couldn’t wait to bring it back for this year!”
In order to ensure safety during the 2021 edition of the event, Ubbi Dubbi brought in COVID-sniffing dogs, doubled the number of toilets available to festival-goers and ensured fans could be spaced out throughout the venue.
While speaking with Pollstar last June, Estopinal explained of their decision to move forward with holding the event in April 2021 that “I knew there was a lot riding on it, not only for electronic music but also for all live music.”
Ubbi Dubbi had first launched in 2019 with a lineup that also featured Zeds Dead. Tickets for 2022’s event are currently onsale starting at $159.95 for General Admission and $269/95 for VIP. Three-day passes for camping start at $159.95 for two wristbands, with options for tent camping, car camping, and RV camping available.
