Pollstar Live! Panel Gives A ‘Reality Check’ On Artist Development
– Pollstar Live! 2022
Live performances virtually stopped in 2020 and much of 2021, but artist development did not.
Attendees at Pollstar Live!, taking place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel Feb. 8-9, will have a chance to find out more about the challenges for artists new to touring in a new landscape following the mass venue closures of 2020 and 2021.
Join moderator Jamie Cheek of FBMM and panelists Zac Bluestone, Wasserman Music; Fabrice Sergent, Bandsintown; Cindy Agi, Live Nation; Shirin Nury, CAA; and Josh Rittenhouse of APA for the panel “Reality Check: Career Development for Artists New to Touring.”
What many artists found when the world re-started was a situation where their following and demand were farther along than their touring history would normally be, creating situations where these artists might be capable of playing bigger rooms than they were actually experienced enough to pull off.
For others, the whole touring dynamic is a new and exciting frontier, requiring skillful management and a more strategic plan than ever.
The conference kicks off Feb. 7 with Production Live!, followed by Pollstar Live! Feb. 8-9 in Beverly Hills, Calif. All events, including the 33rd Pollstar Awards Feb. 8, take place at the Beverly HIlton Hotel.
