Live Nation Launches Eurovision Competition At Avicii Arena In Sweden

The annual song competition is organized by Swedish public broadcasters Sveriges Television (SVT) and Sveriges Radio (SR).
Live Nation Sweden today announced that the first round of Melodifestivalen, the annual song competition which determines Sweden’s candidate at the Eurovision Song Contest, will take place Feb. 4-5 at Avicii Arena in Stockholm.
Live Nation’s project manager on the event, Peter Uksila, said the event would take place with a limited live audience present in the 15,000-capacity building. The exact amount of people allowed inside will be comply with the mandated capacity at the time of the festival.
Melodifestivalen will tour different Swedish cities as the competition to determine Sweden’s Eurovision candidate progresses. The plan is to stop in Malmö, Gothenburg, Linköping, Lidköping, Örnsköldsvik and Stockholm again, where the final will be held at Friends Arena.
All plans are dependent on existing government restrictions. Live Nation will inform and potentially refund ticket buyers accordingly.
