RL Grime, Illenium, Deadmau5 and more are booked to play NOVA SD in its first weeks open.

Located in the city’s Gaslamp Quarter, the 22,000-square-foot indoor and outdoor space will reopen later this month with performances by several high-profile electronic artists, including RL Grime (Feb. 25), deadmau5 (Feb. 26), Jauz (March 4), Tiësto (March 5), Illenium (March 11), Diplo (March 12), Joyryde (March 18) and Steve Aoki (March 19).

“We’re so thankful to the thousands of music lovers that have traveled from the San Diego area to our festivals around the country for nearly 3 decades.” said Insomniac founder and CEO Pasquale Rotella in a statement. “We are excited to finally be able to come here and have a home in Downtown San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter.”

In April 2021, Tao Group Hospitality acquired Hakkasan Group, bringing OMNIA San Diego into Tao’s portfolio.

With NOVA SD, Insomniac continues its growth in the San Diego market, where it welcomed more than 20,000 fans to North Island Credit Union Amphitheater for Audiotistic San Diego in November. The event was the promoter’s first multi-day music festival in the San Diego area.

NOVA SD also becomes the eighth venue in Insomniac’s nightclub portfolio, following Los Angeles’ Exchange LA, Miami’s Club Space and Washington, D.C.’s Echostage, among others.

Last month, Insomniac announced it will bring a new two-day music festival to Washington, D.C. in conjunction with D.C.-based promoter Club Glow. The event, named Project Glow, debuts April 30 and May 1. It also revealed that HARD Summer will return in July, in an expanded three-day format.
