O2 London: First Time Award For Maluma, UFC Hits 10-Show Milestone
Maluma performed his first headline show at The O2, March 16, as part of his “Papi Juancho” tour, promoted by SJM Concerts.
As has become tradition, the team at the O2 presented Maluma with a First Time Award from the venue to commemorate this important date in any artist’s career.
Marc Saunders, programming manager at The O2, commented, “We’re thrilled to have welcomed Maluma to perform his first headline show at The O2. There was a distinct energy in the arena as fans were treated to his mesmerising brand of Latin pop. Thanks to Maluma, his team and SJM Concerts, for an incredible show.”

A few days after Maluma’s first O2 headline concerts, another event got to celebrate a milestone. UFC returned to The O2 on March 19, for their tenth event at the venue, as Tom Aspinall triumphed over Alexander Volkov.
The event saw the highest attendance for a UFC fight night in London, according to a press release from The O2. To mark this monumental accomplishment, the venue presented UFC with a special award, and added UFC to The O2’s “Promoter Wall of Fame,” which features promoters who have put on the most shows at the venue.
Speaking at the post-fight press conference, UFC president Dana White said, “This was the biggest Fight Night of all time. It seriously could not have gone any better. Saturday night’s fights re-energized and reminded us all what it’s like to do fights over in the UK.”
Alex Hill, president & CEO at AEG Europe, commented, “It was incredible to welcome UFC back to The O2 for a fantastic fight night. We’re incredibly proud to have hosted ten UFC events at the venue, each with a totally unique but equally exciting atmosphere. Here’s to the next ten for UFC at The O2.”
