Danny Wimmer Presents Announces GoldenSky Country Music Festival In Sacramento

Danny Wimmer Presents has announced the new GoldenSky Country Music Festival in Sacramento, which will take place Oct. 15-16, the weekend following the company’s four-day Aftershock music festival at the city’s Discovery Park.

The event promises top-tier country artists on three stages, along with a craft beer hall, “farm to fork” dining experience, dance hall saloon, mechanical bull rides and more, with lineup and details promised “early this spring.”

“GoldenSky is the next step in a long-term plan that we have been working on in partnership with the city, county and Visit Sacramento to continue to make Sacramento a top tourist destination,” Danny Hayes, CEO of Danny Wimmer Presents, said in the announcement. “We are honored that Sacramento’s elected officials share our belief that expanded entertainment offerings drive real economic and civic benefit to the region.”

GoldenSky is DWP’s second country festival, following Hometown Rising Country Music & Bourbon Festival in Louisville, Ky., which debuted in 2019 with a sold-out crowd of 70,000 and performances from artists including Tim McGraw, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Little Big Town, Dwight Yoakam and Trace Adkins.

“GoldenSky is a great addition to our creative economy and will help our city regain its momentum as we emerge from the pandemic,” said Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg. “Our hotels, restaurants and other businesses will enjoy millions of dollars in additional sales, and we can all share in the sense of fun and celebration that country music brings.”

So far announced for DWP’s 2022 include Aftershock Oct. 6-9 Welcome To Rockville in Daytona Beach, Fla., May 19-22, Inkarceration in Mansfield, Ohio, July 15-17, and Louder Than Life in Louisville, Ky., Sept. 22-25. The company announced that Bourbon And Beyond 2022 will take place Sept. 15-17 at the Kentucky Expo Center, sharing a site with Louder Than Life.
