Reeperbahn Opening Concerts Unveiled

As has become tradition, Reeperbahn Festival kicks off its program announcements by unveiling the lineup to perform at Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie.

Mine (Germany) and Joy Crookes (UK) will take the stage Friday evening, Sept. 23, followed by Anna Calvi (UK) and Warhaus (Belgium) on Saturday, Sept. 24. All of them have graced a smaller stage at Reeperbahn Festival in previous years – proof of concept for the talent festival and industry conference.

After two years of realizing a hybrid event in compliance with Germany’s coronavirus restrictions, the festival’s organizers around managing director Alexander Schulz and conference director Detlef Schwarte are hopeful that this year will mark a return to normal capacities.

“Most people are now living alongside the pandemic as part of their day-to-day, and the lifting of restrictions that is starting in many places gives good reason to hope that Reeperbahn Festival, scheduled for 21 to 24 September 2022 this year, can return to a much larger scale than the past two years have allowed,” a statement reads.
