Agent Mark Lourie Joins Madison House
Veteran agent Mark Lourie has moved over to Madison House after a long run at Skyline Artists Agency, where he most recently served as VP of Contemporary Music, the Boulder, Colo.-based agency announced today (April 12).
He brings clients Caitlin Canty, Darlingside, Enter The Haggis, MarchFourth, Mick Flannery, Oshima Brothers, Perpetual Groove, Talisk, We Banjo 3, and Zoe Keating to the Madison House roster.
“Mark and I have had a close working relationship for decades,” Madison House Managing Partner Adam Bauer said in making the announcement. “Not only do I consider him an incredibly talented agent, always looking out for his clients’ best interests, but also a dear friend with the highest level of honesty, integrity, and fairness. Three traits that are not as common as one would think and we continue to place high value on at Madison House. His unique and diverse roster has been incredibly loyal to him over his 25+ year career and fits well within our roster covering all genres of contemporary music.”
Madison House Co-Founder Nadia Prescher credits Lourie’s work alongside her at the National Independent Talent Organization for giving her an “up close opportunity to see his commitment to the music community. Since I’ve moved to a Board of Directors position at Madison House, it’s been reassuring to know the new team will continue to uphold the values and beliefs that Madison House has embodied for 26 years.”
Lourie stated: “I’ve … always admired the consistently inventive and forward-leaning spirit Nadia and Madison House have displayed over the years. So at this moment of disruption and reinvention in our industry, it feels like the ideal time to join them in doubling down on the next chapter of an always challenging business, especially with my close friend and confidant, Adam Bauer, at the helm.”
He also heaped praised upon Skyline Artists Agency President Bruce Houghton and his colleagues there.
“I’m forever grateful to Bruce Houghton and all of my associates at Skyline, who gave me my start, and the unwavering support and freedom to build a roster of extraordinary artists in my own way.”
Bauer reiterated, “It has been great to see the respect and care that Mark and Bruce have for each other.”
