Bert Kreischer Gears Up For Fully Loaded Comedy Festival: ‘Evening Of Comedy, Cold Beer And Sunsets’

Comedian, podcast host, author and ultimate party animal Bert Kresicher has put together a run of summer bashes he’s calling the “Fully Loaded Comedy Festival.” Joining Bert on the eight-city June tour are “comics’ comics, fun comics, comics with specials, comics without specials, and comics with an elite set of skills that are perfect for an outdoor evening of comedy, cold beer, and sunsets.”

Dave Attell, Fortune Feimster, Nikki Glaser, Mark Normand, Big Jay Oakerson, Taylor Tomlinson, and Sal Vulcano appear on select dates, with additional special guests to be added. An announcement notes that the lineup varies by market and is subject to change.

The first stop is June 16 in South Bend, Ind., at Four Winds Field. The routing also includes shows in Louisville, Ky.; Dayton, Ohio; Rochester, N.Y.; Greenville, S.C.; Bristol, Tenn.; Lawrenceville, Ga.; and Brandon, Miss.

“With my history of performing outdoors, and amassing crowds that loved a great outdoor party over a cold beer and sunset in great company, I was presented with the idea of minor-league ballparks, a couple amphitheaters, a few racetracks, and a couple arenas,” Kreischer said in a statement. “I immediately thought, this is a festival I want to put together. I then put down a list of my favorite comics that I love to watch, work, hang, and have a drink with, and from there it was a no-brainer.”

Kreischer – who Rolling Stone once called “the top partyer at the Number One Party School in the country” in a 1997 feature and who famously inspired National Lampoon’s Van Wilder franchise – knows a thing or two about having a good time and bringing the fun to fans.

When the pandemic shut down traditional live events, that didn’t stop Kreisher from delivering much-needed laughter and connection. As the first comedian to mount a drive-in tour, Kreischer won the Pollstar award for “Damn the Torpedoes: 2020-21 Touring Artist.” His socially-distanced “Hot Summer Nights” tour featured 59 shows in more than 35 cities across 18 states, reaching more than 80,000 fans.

This past autumn Kreischer spoke to Pollstar about playing his biggest show yet – a Sept. 8 headline show at Colorado’s legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre, which moved a total of 9,161 tickets and grossed $505,564.

“When you’re younger and all you want is the fans and the success … It’s different when you’re [touring] for 23 years and you’ve been busting your ass and doing clubs … It feels different when you’ve earned it. … It’s really, really magical. I cried a couple of times at the end of the show because it’s Red Rocks, it’s just such a spectacular venue.”

Ahead of the Fully Loaded Comedy Festival Kreischer has more dates lined up on “The Berty Boy Tour.” Up next is an April 21 gig at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry House.
