Festival d’été Is Back

Festival d’été de Quebec, Canada, has announced its return, July 6-17, with a fulminant lineup featuring Halsey, Rage Against The Machine, Alanis Morissette, Marshmello, Luke Combs, $uicideboy$, Maroon 5, and many more.

While these artists are all set to take the Festival d’été main stage on Quebec’s Plains of Abraham, there’ll be loads of music to be experienced on the festival’s secondary stages as well.

Due to construction work in the city, the festival’s layout will be slightly redesigned in 2022. “The redesign will allow us to create an entirely new festival experience, explained Anne Hudon, president and CEO of FEQ promoter Bleufeu, “the first benefit will be to present an alternating and continuous program on our second stage at Parc de la Francophonie, in addition to a stage at Place de l’Assemblée-Nationale, allowing us to concentrate and densify our offer. In this new heart of the FEQ, there will be rest areas, concessions and the free Hydro-Québec Stage with an enhanced program. By reconfiguring our sites, we will be shortening the distance between them, allowing festival visitors to live the FEQ experience even more intensely.”

General tickets are on sale now, starting at €130 ($141) for a pass granting access to all the general admission shows during FEQ.

The lineup is already coming together nicely, with The National, Jamie xx, Bonobo, Duran Duran, and Anderson .Paak leading the bill.

Following the success of D’Alessandro and Galli’s Lucca Summer Festival, the promoters decided to once again combine music, vacation, and fun, summarized by the slogan, “It’s more than a music festival. It’s a holiday experience.”

The festival site is located in Lido di Camaiore, set right on the Tuscan seaside. Aside from the artists already mentioned above, Courtney Barnett, Easy Life, Jungle, Beabadoobee and some of the most interesting rising stars of the Italian music scene, such as Cosmo, La Rappresentante di Lista and Giorgio Poi, have joined the bill for the first ever La Prima Estate.

On top of the beach-side performances, “La Prima Estate OFF” will offer programming from midnight till dawn in Versilia’s nightclubs.

The entertainment outside of music includes a cooking class on the beach, stand-up paddle boat lessons, yoga and more.

Mimmo D’Alessandro, CEO of D’Alessandro e Galli, commented, “Our impression as promoters of live music is that for audiences today, just attending a concert is no longer enough: La Prima Estate wants to build on this desire, accelerated by the post-pandemic euphoria to fully enjoy free time, and combine an evening of live music with a series of experiences related to sport, the sea, food and other incredible activities during the rest of the festival goers’ stay. A new concept of a festival for which we consider Versilia and Tuscany to be the ideal place.”
