Robert Plant & Alison Krauss Announce Second Leg Of U.S. Tour
As Robert Plant and Alison Krauss continue to plan their first international trek in more than a decade, the pair have now announced the second leg of their “Raising The Roof Tour.”
While the first leg of shows sees Krauss and Plant hitting New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta and more before hopping over to Europe, the second leg of shows finds the two heading over to the western U.S. The two will begin in San Diego on Aug. 15, with stops in Los Angeles, Berkeley, Calif., Napa, Calif., Salt Lake City, Morrison, Colo., and more before stopping at the Moody Center in Austin on Sept. 4.
The new dates will see Plant and Krauss performing at iconic venues such as Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre, Morrison, Colo.’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and Austin’s Moody Amphitheatre.
When Plant and Krauss toured in 2008, the two sold 2,261 tickets and grossed $319,110 for their show at The Mountain Winery in Saratoga, Calif. on Oct. 5, according to reports submitted to Pollstar’s Boxoffice. Their Seattle show at the WaMu Theater on Oct. 1, 2008 sold 4,560 tickets and grossed $365,274.
Plant and Krauss released their sophomore album, Raise The Roof, last November. Along with the LP’s release, the duo unveiled the first leg of their upcoming tour dates, which kicks off on June 1 at Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands PAC (CMAC) in Canandaigua, N.Y. The pair will head overseas starting their European leg in London on June 26, with stops in Norway, Sweden, Italy, Germany and Poland.
Raise The Roof follows Plant and Krauss’ acclaimed debut, Raising Sand, which won five Grammys, including Album and Record of the Year, following its release in 2007. The duo’s 2008 tour in support of their debut album grossed a total of $15.1 million, according to Pollstar Boxoffice data.
