UB40 will be returning to North America on Aug. 19 with their new lead singer, Matt Doyle. The legendary reggae-pop band will be joined by The Original Wailers, Maxi Priest, and Big Mountain for each stop on the upcoming trek.

The tour will kick off at Detroit’s Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre, with stops in New York City’s Central Park, Boston’s House of Blues, Houston’s Arena Theatre, Phoenix’s Celebrity Theatre and more before wrapping up on Sept. 18 at The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

“We’re so excited to finally be going back to America, after the hiatus caused by the pandemic,” Robin Campbell said in a statement. “We can’t wait to feel the vibe and love of a live crowd in the states, and for all the UB40 fans to met our new vocalist Matt as well. They can expect a phenomenal show. We’ll be sure to bring the party.”

UB40 plan to perform their biggest hits, including “Red Red Wine,” “Food For Thought,” “(I Can’t Help) Falling In Love With You” and more during the tour. The band will also be promoting their recent album, BIGGA BAGGARIDDIM.

Universal Attractions Agency is presenting the show, with more dates for the tour expected to be added on.

“We’re really excited about this tour, and we can tell the fans are too,” Jeff Epstein of Universal Attractions Agency said in a statement. “UB40 are legends, and it’s our honor to present them in celebration of their new album. These shows promise to be a one-of-a-kind experience this summer with four reggae greats all on one stage. We’re so grateful everyone hung in there through the uncertainty of the pandemic shut-down to see this through.”

UB40 were among those able to tour in Australia last year, selling 1,560 tickets and grossing $107,194 for their show in Milsons Point, Australia on May 7, 2021, according to reports submitted to Pollstar’s Boxoffice.

“I really love UB40’s fans, they’ve welcomed me with love and open arms and I can’t wait to meet the fans across the pond, even more I can’t wait to hear them all singing the classics back to me,” Doyle, said in a statement. “It’s crazy to think of how my dream of touring the U.S. has become a reality, joining the biggest-selling reggae band in the world, a band that broke in America back in the ’80s , and who are still adored globally today.”

Tickets are currently onsale on the group’s website.
