Elton John, Katy Perry, Sam Smith, Lizzo, Anitta and more have been announced as performers for P&G and iHeart Media’s “Can’t Cancel Pride 2022: Proud AND Together,” which will be hosted by JoJo Sia on June 14.
“As we’ve proven of the past two years, you ‘Can’t Cancel Pride,'” iHeartMedia Chief Marketing Officer, Gayle Troberman, said in a statement. “Even with a global pandemic raging, we’ve been able to bring the community together with the most influential artists to celebrate Pride and raise consciousness and funds for some heroic organizations while working to support the needs of the LGBTQ+ community in communities around the nation. This year is a big moment as we emerge from lockdown to celebrate diversity and inclusion while continuing to champion the LGBTQ organizations that create a more equal and welcoming world for all.”
This year will see Elton John being honored with the event’s first-ever Impact Award for his humanitarian work with the Elton John AIDS Foundation, which the singer first began 30 years ago. Siwa will also be receiving a special honor at the event for being a young trailblazer within the LGBTQ+ community.
