The Middle East run of Maroon 5’s 2022 world tour included two more shows in the region. Starting in Egypt, a natural amphitheater staging with the monumental backdrop of the Pyramids of Giza provided one of the most spectacular concert settings imaginable.

This was followed by a sold-out show in Abu Dhabi, UAE, May 6, where Maroon 5 headlined the recently opened Etihad Arena. The shows were produced in partnership with Live Nation Israel, Live Nation Middle East and Nacelle Events.

Pollstar has shone a spotlight on business the Middle East for several years in a row, documenting how the region has been developing into a full-fledged touring destination, a process still underway.

Zaed Maqbool, VP, touring & talent, Live Nation Middle East/South Asia, said, “In yet another first, Maroon 5 are the first band to confirm and perform a routed run in the Middle East. Having a routed run means bands are able to play for even more fans, rather than playing one-offs that take them out of the market for years. This is a great step to see for the industry, and more regional runs are being planned as we speak.”

Guy Beser, CEO of Live Nation Israel, added, “This marks a powerful, shared moment across the region and is of great significance to both the Middle East and Live Nation. This landmark event marks the dawn of a new era, and will ensure an easier process for bringing bands, global artists and festivals to the region.”

This summer Maroon 5 will bring their 2022 world tour back to North American arenas, hitting cities they were not able to play during the pandemic. All dates below.

Kicking off Saturday, July 30, at Moda Center in Portland, OR, these dates throughout Canada and the Northern U.S. conclude with an intimate fan event inside Universal Studios Orlando, after the park closes, Aug. 26.

The tour continues in support of the group’s 2021 album, Jordi, which marks their seventh Top 10 debut on the Billboard Top 200 and was certified gold two weeks from release.

2022 also marks the 20th anniversary of Maroon 5’s classic multi-platinum debut album, Songs About Jane. The LP has gone on to sell over 20 million records and is certified platinum in 14 countries.

To date, the band from Los Angeles has won three Grammy Awards, achieved over 80 million in album sales, 450 million singles worldwide, and earned gold and platinum certifications in more than 35 countries. Three of Maroon 5’s records, “Moves Like Jagger,” “Sugar,” and “Girls Like You,” have been certified diamond.

Maroon 5 has performed over 750 shows and sold north of 7.75 million tickets worldwide since their formation. Box office reports submitted to Pollstar include an Oct. 7 show at the Bay Area’s Shoreline Amphitheatre that sold 20,580 tickets and grossed nearly $1.1 million.
