MTV today announced that PSD Bank Dome in Düsseldorf, Germany, will be hosting the MTV EMAs, Nov. 13.

The announcement was made today, May 24, at the venue. It will mark the sixth time, that Germany will be hosting the MTV EMAs. The first time was in Berlin in 1994. The show returned to the German capital in 2009, other editions took place in Frankfurt (2001, 2012), and Munich (2007).

Last year’s EMAs were broadcast from Hungary’s Papp László Budapest Sportaréna, and featured performances by Ed Sheeran, Maluma, Imagine Dragons, Kim Petras und Måneskin.

The MTV EMAs 2022 from the PSD Bank Dome will also be broadcast into more than 170 countries. The lineup of performers is yet to be announced.

For Michael Brill, CEO of D.Live, operator of PSD Bank Dome, there is “no stronger signal for the comeback of live” than the MTV EMAs coming to Düsseldorf.

“In November 2022, the city will be the international meeting point of the music industry, the most important artists of our time and national and international visitors,” he said, adding, “together with Paramount, the MTV family and the international music scene, we are sending a signal from Düsseldorf to Germany and Europe: Live is back!”

Presenters, nominees, artists and other guests of the MTV EMAs will be announced at a later date.
