Move Concerts – the biggest independent concert promoter in Latin America – has named Tiago Maia as managing director of the company’s Brazil operations.

“My purpose is to bring more incredible experiences to the public that attends our events. This energy that moves us will transcend to an amazing journey with the audience,” Maia said in a statement.

Maia has served on the board of Brazils’ DC Set Group as Head of Sales and Business Development since 2019. Last year, Move Concerts reached a partnership with Brazil’s DC Set Group in which DC Set partners and co-presidents Dody Sirena and Cicão Chies acquired a stake in Move Concerts Brazil.

Before joining DC Set Group, Maia held the role of CEO of the Novo Brasil Group, which operates nightclubs, beach clubs and parties in the South of Brazil. He started his career at TRIP publishing house and at RBS Communication Group, where he spent five years working as General Manager of Events and New Business.

“One of the things we did during the pandemic was to look inward and make whatever necessary changes we felt were needed to come back stronger and better positioned to maximize our growth after the pandemic ended. We are fortunate to have Tiago, with his background & enthusiasm, leading our operation in Brazil and joining the Move Concerts family,” Move Concerts CEO Phil Rodriguez said in a statement.

Maia’s hire follows news in April that Move Concerts had expanded its team in Brazil with Rodrigo Moura hired as finance manager and Igor Ismail joining as assistant to Karen Pedroso, the company’s longtime marketing director.

Move Concerts’ headquarters is based in Miami, with offices in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Peru and Puerto Rico.

Recent shows promoted by Move Concerts include two shows from Louis Tomlinson at Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires, Argentina May 21-22 that sold a total of 26,946 tickets.
