No sobbing here. It’s all smiles for CAA as the agency has signed John Mayer in all areas globally.

Mayer is currently on the road with Dead & Company. Since the group was founded in 2015 – with Mayer on lead guitar and vocals, joining former Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann, along with Oteil Burbridge, and Jeff Chimenti – the group has completed six tours and sold more than 3 million tickets. Overall grosses from all the tours land just under $300 million, according to box office reports submitted to Pollstar. Those numbers are about to grow with Dead & Co.’s tour that launched at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles June 11. Up next for the band is a July 1 show in Bethel, N.Y.

This spring Mayer wrapped up his “Sob Rock” solo tour in support of his eighth studio album, Sob Rock, that was released in 2021. The trek featured 32 sold-out concerts at 23 North American arenas, with a total gross of $52 million from 382,800 sold tickets.

Mayer has plenty of other big numbers to brag about. As an announcement from CAA points out, Mayer has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide and accumulated billions of streams, along with “a record seven U.S. No. 1’s on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart and 25 entries on the Hot Rock Songs chart – the most for any solo artist.” He’s also won seven Grammys including “Song of the Year” for “Daughters.”

Mayer is managed by Irving Azoff and Steve Moir. His attorney is Reid Hunter. He was previously represented by agent Scott Clayton, who most recently left WME for UTA in late October.
