DEAG Promotes Moritz Schwenkow To CTTO

German live entertainment giant Deutsche Entertainment Aktiengesellschaft (DEAG) is expanding the responsibilities of its Chief Ticketing Officer (CTO) Moritz Schwenkow. Effective immediately, he is the company’s new Chief Ticketing and Technology Officer (CTTO).
“With the expansion of Moritz Schwenkow’s area of responsibility, DEAG underscores the special importance of ticketing for its integrated business model and takes the advancing technologization and digitalization in the entertainment industry into account. Besides DEAG’s entire ticketing business, the consolidation of all ticketing activities and the expansion into other European countries, Moritz Schwenkow will assume strategic responsibility for digitalization and technology,” the press release announcing Schwenkow’s promotion states.
DEAG Sales Soar To Pre-Corona Levels In Q1 2022
Schwenkow has been CTO of DEAG since April 2020 and has been driving the ticketing business and digitalization within the Group. Examples include the in-house ticketing system of Frankfurt’s Jahrhunderthalle, whhich was taken over by myticket and almost completely digitalized. He’s going to further develop synergies between DEAG’s other ticketing platforms aside from myticket.de: myticket.at, myticket.co.uk as well as the U.K. ticketing platform Gigantic.com.
Moritz Schwenkow said, “We are already excellently positioned on the international ticketing market with our state-of-the-art platforms. The digitalization of the event industry has gained even more momentum, not least due to the corona pandemic. This not only affects areas such as e-ticketing, but also new digital formats. (…) We will continue to use new technologies such as blockchain technology and NFTs to further strengthen our position in the market and expand into new [ones].”
