GAYLE Avoids College By Embarking On Biggest Tour To Date

GAYLE is continuing her momentous 2022 with her biggest North American headline tour to date. The “avoiding college tour” gets underway Oct. 8 at Oklahoma City’s Beer City Music Hall and then travels through mid-November with support from Carlie Hanson and poutyface.

The “avoiding college tour” is the latest in an extensive international live schedule that has already seen GAYLE traveling on her own sold-out show run, as well as with tours supporting Tate McRae and AJR, and a two-night stand alongside My Chemical Romance in Dublin, Ireland.

This summer sees the 18-year-old, Nashville-based artist lighting up an array of festival stages around the world, including Lollapalooza in Chicago (July 30), Leeds (Aug. 26) and Reading (Aug. 28) festivals in the UK, Firefly Music Festival in Dover, Del. (Sept. 22-25) and Austin City Limits Festival in Texas (Oct. 9 and 16).

Her summer itinerary follows more than a year of club headlining dates and opening tour dates for such artists as AJR, Tate McRae and Winnetka Bowling League. She’s averaged 449 sold tickets and gross of $6,885 for her headline dates so far – but that’s likely to change in a big way.

GAYLE, on the heels of her smash hit single “abcdefu,” was a Pollstar “Hotstar” featured artist in February. Born in Dallas, she spent ages 9 through 14 “doing a lot of writers’ rounds” in Music City, three to five times a week. At age 14 she was discovered by songwriter, record producer and music publisher Kara DioGuardi and GAYLE’s now-manager Kristina Russo during an event they put on in partnership with Nashville Songwriters Association International [NSAI].

“The thing we noticed was her intensity. More so than the song, it was just her presence and her being on stage,” Russo said.
