“The music of India is transcendental, it draws our spirits East,” Farrell said in a statement. “Lollapalooza is an instrument for unity, peace, and education utilizing the universal languages of music and art to find common ground.”
Lollapalooza India will mark the first time the famous festival will take place on Asian shores, “with a full two days of music across four stages as well as innovative culinary selections, art, fashion and more,” according to the announcement made by Live Nation July 27.
Lineup and ticket information will be released soon.
“BookMyShow is proud to bring Lollapalooza to India – making it the 8th country and the 4th continent to do so. With a mix of some stellar Indian talent and global artists coming together on the same stage, we expect nothing short of magic,” said Ashish Hemrajani, founder and CEO of BookMyShow.

Over the years, the company has evolved from a purely online ticketing platform for movies across 6,000-plus screens to end-to-end management of live entertainment events including music concerts, live performances, theatricals, sports and more, all accomplished at par with global standards.
Some of the key properties that BookMyShow has brought to its markets over the past few years include U2’s “The Joshua Tree Tour,” NBA’s debut games in India, Disney’s “Aladdin” musical and Cirque du Soleil BAZZAR, as well as international artists such as Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber.
The announcement of Lollapalooza India comes days ahead of the original event returning to Chicago’s Grant Park this coming weekend, July 28-31, with a lineup led by Metallica, Dua Lipa, J. Cole, Green Day, Doja Cat, Machine Gun Kelly, Lil Baby, Kygo, and more.
