Indie pop band Lucius will follow an enormously successful summer with a fall headlining tour that will hit mostly theatres, festivals and some sheds, kicking off Sept. 9 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre near Denver.

The duo, made up of Holly Laessig and Jess Wolfe, is taking its “Feels Like Second Nature” outing to venues including Scoot Inn in Austin, Texas; The Echo in Dallas; Ogden Theatre in Denver; Neptune Theatre in Seattle, Music Box in San Diego and The Belasco in Los Angeles, among others.

Tickets go on sale in most markets Friday, Aug. 12 at 10 a.m. local time and details can be found at the band’s website.

Lucius also spent much of the summer on the road opening for Brandi Carlile, as well as taking part in the Carlile-curated “Girls Just Wanna Weekend” in January. The duo also took the stage with Carlile at Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island during the July 24 set billed as “Brandi Carlile and Friends” that featured Joni Mitchell’s first full performance in more than 20 years.

The band’s previous headlining tour took them to venues including Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, 9:30 Club in Washington, DC; Metro /Smart Bar in Chicago; Fillmore Philadelphia; and Beacon Theater in NYC. They averaged 1,203 tickets sold per show during the May run and a gross of $51,879.

The tour is in support of Lucius’ acclaimed new album, Second Nature, which was released this past spring. The LP was produced by Dave Cobb and Brandi Carlile, who has been an early and enthusiastic supporter of Lucius.

“Lucius has been one of my favorite bands since their first studio album,” Carlile says in a statement. “I kept running into them at festivals and finding myself mystified by their power. This album feels like home to me and anyone growing up surrounded by ‘80s and ‘90s pop, but somehow Second Nature is the beginning of a new era – not just for Lucius, but for all of us. We need to get back up on our feet and that’s what this album is insisting we do.”

In addition to their work in the band, Laessig and Wolfe have recorded with Sheryl Crow, Harry Styles, The War on Drugs, Ozzy Osborne and John Legend and toured extensively alongside Roger Waters.
