Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Automatic Set For NYC’s Inaugural indieplaza

A Tribe Called Quest’s Ali Shaheed Muhammad, New Wave three-piece Automatic and Brazilian guitar virtuoso Sessa highlight the lineup for the inaugural indieplaza festival, scheduled for Sept. 17- 18 at New York City’s Rockefeller Center.

The free event, a collaboration between seminal indie record store and label Rough Trade and Rockefeller Center, celebrates the former’s move of its New York storefront from Brooklyn to midtown Manhattan. Rough Trade and Rockefeller Center launched a concert series at the legendary Rainbow Room last autumn.

The lineup also includes Claud, Horsegirl, They Hate Change, Yaya Bey and The Muckers.

The festival will feature a merchandise market, local food and drink options and a music-making workshop.
