ASM Global’s Harvey Lister Tops Power List

ASM Global (Asia Pacific) chairman and CEO Harvey Lister topped the Brisbane Courier Mail’s list of Queensland’s 65 most influential in celebrity, arts and entertainment.

He was cited for his “intricate web of contacts and powers of persuasion. Undoubtedly the best connected person in the business, Lister is a formidable character who has the ear of government and the respect of industry.”

Secret Service Group CEO Paul Piticco was at No. 12, Fortitude Music Hall and Triffid club co-founders John Collins at No. 17 and Scott Hutchinson was at No. 22.

Promoter Untitled Group Debuts In North

Online ticketing House of Tickets rebranded as Ticketworx. Established 15 years ago, it handles 30 million transactions a year for 2,700 clients.

Founder Nathan Simonds explained, “As we focus more on the digital realms, we took this opportunity for a restructure and rebrand.”

Providing ticketing and customised solutions for events, festivals, theatres and businesses, its technology covers queue management, custom pre-printed tickets, thermal ticket stock, 3D lenticular laminates and custom wristbands.

BEIA Conference To ‘Ignite Future’

Experts on future strategies, new rules of engagement, redesigned ecosystem, workforce training, sustainability and customer expectations are among those offering debate on moving onward for NZ’s events industry.

“As we face limited staffing resources, added pressure on venues, and shorter lead times, COVID-19 has made us think differently,” said Lisa Hopkins, chief executive of the Business Events Industry Aotearoa’s (BEIA).

Its Ignite The Future conference in Hawke’s Bay at Napier Conference Centre Oct. 4-6.

Speakers include Oscar Cerezales, chief strategy officer at global marketing and engagement agency MCI Group, Malaysia-based Waikin Wong, regional director for Asia Pacific of the International Congress and Convention Association, Megan Williams of Tourism Industry Aotearoa, Lee Picken from creative event management company Lime and Soda and The Events Group’s Meredith Drucker.
