Charley Magrew Named SVP at The Bowery Presents
Charley Magrew is The Bowery Presents’ new Senior Vice President of Marketing, Ticketing and Partnerships, AEG Presents announced Tuesday.
In his new role, Magrew will lead and oversee marketing, ticketing and sponsorship teams for The Bowery Presents as it expands its footprint and business operations. The Bowery Presents operates more than two dozen venues in New York City, Boston, New Orleans, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Virginia and Maine. Its portfolio includes Forest Hills Stadium and Webster Hall in New York, and the Royale and the Roadrunner in Boston.
Magrew, who previously served as Vice President of Marketing, will focus on new venue development, institutional and venue branding, event marketing, strategic partnerships, ticket inventory management and new revenue generation.
“Charley is a well-respected leader in our business and has been instrumental in the development and launches of several of Bowery’s venues, including Brooklyn Steel, Webster Hall, and Roadrunner,” said The Bowery Presents founder John Moore and his partner Jim Glancy in a joint statement. “With exciting new projects forthcoming, we are thrilled to see Charley’s role expand during a pivotal time for our company.”
Magrew will oversee the marketing team, ticket operations and the partnership teams.
“The Bowery Presents has been a leader and tastemaker in the New York City music scene for nearly two decades, and it is an honor to have had a hand in guiding the company’s expanded presence in the East Coast, while also playing a role in helping to shape Bowery’s future,” said Magrew. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with Jim, John, and countless amazing colleagues as we continue that mission.”
Magrew joined The Bowery Presents as Head of Marketing in 2015. A Minnesota native, Charley began his career promoting shows at the Orpheum, State and Pantages Theatres in Minneapolis, before moving to New York to serve as Director of Marketing for Broadway Across America. With Broadway Across America, he led marketing efforts for Broadway tours, including Disney’s The Lion King and Wicked, and was involved in the reopening programming of the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans.
From there, Charley went on to lead the re-opening efforts of Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre in 2015 before segueing to The Bowery Presents later that year.
