Billy Strings Picks Arenas For 2023 Winter Tour
Progressive bluegrass guitar phenom Billy Strings will play 17 dates, including 15 headlining arena dates, as part of his 2023 Winter Tour.
Strings’ winter loop begins with three nights at Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena in Atlantic City, N.J. Feb. 16-18 and includes a turn Feb. 26 at the Ryman Auditorium after back-to-back nights across the street at Bridgestone Arena. The first of two dates at Winston-Salem, N.C.’s Lawrence Joel Memorial Coliseum is Doc Watson’s 100th birthday celebration. Pre-sale for the announced dates begins Nov. 2 at 10 a.m. local time with general on-sale Nov. 4, also at 10 a.m. Registration for pre-sale tickets is available at www.billystrings.com/tour.
Strings is due to release a new album “Me/And/Dad” Nov. 18. The record features 14 versions of bluegrass and country classics recorded with his father Terry Barber.
Strings will hit Europe in November and December before returning stateside for a handful of shows in December in New Orleans and Denver before launching the winter tour.
Strings had a remarkable run of theater sell-outs through the summer, according to reports submitted to Pollstar Boxoffice. Three shows at Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, N.C., sold a total of 17,585 tickets, grossing $989,007.
