AEG Presents Appoints Head Of Comedy UK/Europe
AEG Presents appointed Georgie Donnelly as the company’s first head of comedy for the UK and Europe, right in time for the esteemed Just For Laughs comedy festival making its UK debut in March.
Donelly’s appointment “will be pivotal in continuing to expand AEG Presents’ footprint beyond music, placing a major emphasis on live comedy and exponentially growing this area of the business,” according to the press release announcing the hire.
Donnelly brings over a decade of experience in comedy. She joined AEG Presents a year ago from Moment House, where she served as head of comedy & podcasts. Prior to this she was responsible for booking and representing comedy acts internationally as agent at United Talent Agency.

Donnelly also established and built the comedy department as head of comedy at Kilimanjaro Live, where she toured some of the biggest international acts in comedy around the UK. In her time with AEG Presents, Donnelly has already worked with Jonathan Van Ness, Hasan Minhaj, Daniel Howell, Yvonne Orji, and Russell Peters.
Her first milestone as AEG Presents’ head of comedy for the UK and Europe will be the premiere of Just For Laughs at The O2, London, March 2-5, 2023. The UK edition of the famous festival will offer solo shows, live podcast recordings, conversations and panels from both UK-based artists as well as international stars. “This is the first of many comedy events to be staged by AEG Presents as they continue to expand their presence within the world of comedy,” the press release continues.
Donnelly said, “I am absolutely delighted to join the team at AEG Presents who are synonymous with live music and entertainment. I am so excited to be expanding the live comedy aspect of the business and look forward to bringing some of the biggest stars and events in global comedy to the UK.”
Steve Homer, CEO of AEG Presents, commented, “Georgie is immersed in the comedy world and has incredible experience booking and running tours and shows across multiple comedic genres. It’s an area AEG Presents is increasingly taking up residence and with Just for Laughs, as well as the arrival of Georgie to this newly created role, our plan is to really accelerate our comedic footprint.”
The news of Donnelly’s appointment comes off the heels of AEG Presents’ announcement of the appointment of Lucy Noble to an inaugural artistic director position.
