Maná Adds U.S. Cities to ‘México Lindo Y Querido’ Tour
Maná isn’t showing any signs of slowing down following a record-breaking residency at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, and “México Lindo Y Querido” tour across Latin America.
The four-time Grammy Award-winning band announced an additional leg to its tour produced by Live Nation, adding 19 shows in 15 U.S. cities starting at the Kia Forum on Friday, Feb. 10, and closing at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California, on Saturday, Sept. 23.
Maná will host a launch party and deliver a special live performance tonight at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas to celebrate the extended tour, which includes shows in Phoenix, San Antonio, Miami, New York and Chicago as well as a lone northeast U.S. date, at UBS Arena in New York on April 22.
“Get ready, we’re coming with a brand new production and all our hits. We’re excited to be back on the road and see all our fans in the U.S. This isn’t just a concert tour, it’s a celebration of life,” the band said in a statement.
Maná, considered to be one of the most influential Latin rock bands, opened its tour in Tijuana, México, on June 10 and went on to play in four other Mexican cities, Colombia and Puerto Rico. During its run in México, the popular rock en español artists sold out stadiums with more than 150,000 fans.
The U.S. leg of the tour comes on the heels of an impressive residency at the Kia Forum, a venue that won the Arena of the Year honor in the 33rd annual Pollstar Awards in February. Despite not having released a studio album in seven years, Maná sold out 12 shows at the popular Inglewood venue with more than 165,000 tickets sold and assured fans that it will continue to play in Los Angeles in 2023 as long as they continue to show up.
Maná, winners of nine Latin Grammy awards, has the best-selling Spanish-language rock album of all time in “¿Dónde Jugarán los Niños?,” and their multi-generational reach makes them one of the biggest draws in live entertainment. Box office highlights for the band include two shows in San Juan, Puerto Rico, last month that sold 38,143 tickets and grossed more than $2.7 million, according to Pollstar box office reports.
