Metallica Unveils ‘M72 World Tour’ Dates
Metallica will be playing for two nights in different cities across the globe with zero repeats for their “M72 World Tour.” Each city will feature different sets and opening acts. The tour will see additional performances from Architects, Mammoth WVH, Five Finger Death Punch, Ice Nine Kills, Pantera, Volbeat and Greta Van Fleet.
The Live Nation-produced “M72 World Tour” kicks off on April 27 and 29 in Amsterdam, with stops in Paris, Hamburg, Montreal, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Detroit, Munich, Madrid, Chicago, Seattle and more before wrapping up with four nights in Mexico City from Sept. 20 to 29, 2024.
European show one support will feature Architects and Mammoth WVH, while show two support in Europe will see Five Finger Death Punch and Ice Nine Kills. Paris will see various replacements, with Five Finger Death Punch and Ice Nine Kills playing night one, while Architects and Mammoth WVH taking the stage on night two. Volbeat will be replacing Architects on night one in Gotehburg.
North American shows will feature Pantera and Mammoth WVH on night one, with Five Finger Death Punch and Ice Nine Kills taking the stage on night two. Greta Van Fleet will then be replacing Pantera on show one for both weekends in Mexico City.
A portion of the proceeds will go towards the All Within My Hands foundation. Metallica started the foundation in 2017 to provide grants in career and technical education programs in the United States, as well as combat food insecurity and disaster relief efforts.
Metallica’s four shows throughout Brazil back in May all sold out, with the band grossing $3.6 million in Porto Alegre, $2.9 million in Curitiba, $4.5 million in Sao Paulo and $3.2 million in Belo Horizonte with Great Van Fleet as support. Last year, the band played two nights in their hometown of San Francisco on Dec. 17 and 19 at Chase Center, grossing $4.1 million.
Fans under the age of 16 will be able to snag discounted tickets. Two-day tickets begin to go on sale starting Dec. 2 via Ticketmaster, with fans given the opportunity to pre-order 72 seasons on vinyl or CD. Single-day tickets will then go on sale starting Jan. 20.
