Kägelbanan, one of Stockholm’s iconic venues, will be reopening after a three-year closure, operated by Stockholm Live, which is ASM Global’s Swedish business.

In previous years, Kägelbanan hosted gigs by artists including Coldplay, Ice Cube, The Libertines, First Aid Kit, Killers, and more. Stockholm Live’s portfolio of venue’s in Sweden’s capital comprises Avicii Arena, Friends Arena, Tele2 Arena, Södra Teatern, of which Kägelbanan forms one part, Annexet, Hovet, and the recently added outdoor venue, Betongparken.

Stockholm Live will use Kägelbanan for concerts and events. As a result, nightclub activities will not be conducted in the premises as in previous times. Kägelbanan will undergo renovations before reopening, including a new light and sound system for the venue.

Andreas Sand, CEO of Stockholm Live, said, “Kägelbanan is an incredibly important venue for Stockholm with all its history and great artists who have performed here. With its capacity of close to 1,000 spectators, it fits perfectly into what is requested by our promoters, and with its location and atmosphere, it will be an important piece in Stockholm’s cultural scene going forward.”
