Madonna Announces First Arena Tour in 7 Years

Global icon Madonna will tour North America and Europe on a 35-city tour for her first arena shows since 2016.

The legend announced “The Celebration Tour” Monday via a video parodying her film Truth or Dare.

The Live Nation-produced tour begins July 15 at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena and includes stops in the Material Girl’s hometown of Detroit, Los Angeles, Chicago and two dates at Madison Square Garden. The tour then moves to Europe beginning October 14 at London’s O2 Arena. The European run includes two dates in Paris and the tour wraps in Amsterdam December 1.

Madonna did a run of multi-night theater plays in 2019 and 2020 pre-pandemic. Her last submissions to Pollstar Boxoffice were eight nights at the Grand Rex in Paris between February 22 and March 8, 2020. The octet grossed more than $5.1 million on 20,919 total tickets, an average of $246 per ticket. Her last dates in the U.S. were six December 2019 shows at the Jackie Gleason Theater at the Fillmore in Miami Beach, grossing more than $3.7 million on 13,339 tickets, for an average price of $279. Madonna’s last arena stop was the conclusion of an Asian and Australian leg in 2016 with two dates at Sydney’s Qudos Arena March 19 and 20, 2016, grossing $6.05 million on 26,370 tickets for a $229 average. Her last play at a U.S. arena was January 23 and 24, 2016, at what is now Miami-Dade Arena, grossing $2.55 million on 26,468 tickets, a $96 average.

Legacy fan club members will have a presale opportunity from noon Eastern January 17 to 5 p.m. Eastern January 17 for the January 20 on-sale tickets for North American shows and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Greenwich Mean Time January 18 for the January 20 on-sale European stops. For the January 27 dates, the fan club presale runs from 10 a.m. Eastern January 23 to 5 p.m. January 25.
