CTS Eventim published its preliminary financial results for the year 2022, showing a strong business performance.

Consolidated revenue rose by 372% year on year, from €408 million ($437 million) in 2021 to €1.924 billion ($2.059 billion) in 2022.

“This means,” as the live entertainment giant points out a press release, “that CTS Eventim’s revenue reached a new all-time high of almost €2 billion, an improvement of 33% compared with the previous record figure from 2019, before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

According to the preliminary figures, both the ticketing and the live entertainment segments contributed to this growth.

The group’s normalised EBITDA amounted to €384 million ($411 million) in 2022, following €208 million ($223 million) in 2021 and €287 million ($307 million) in 2019.

In the ticketing segment, annual revenue came to €541 million ($579 million) in 2022, more than twice the sum of the previous year (€224 million), and 12% higher than in 2019 (€482 million). Normalized EBITDA totalled €263 million ($281 million) for 2022, almost double on the previous year (€177 million), and a rise of 20% on 2019 (€220 million).

In the live entertainment segment, revenue climbed to €1,409 million in 2022, up from €191 million (€204 million) compared to last year, and a substantial jump of 43% compared to three years ago (€986 million). Normalized EBITDA came to €121 million ($130 million) in 2022 (previous year: € 31 million), and was thus almost twice as high as in 2019 (€66 million).

CTS Eventim’s 2022 year-end figures match a trend that’s been showing since the end of 2021, when CEO Klaus-Peter Schulenberg was observing the return of customer confidence, and a resurgence in ticket sales.

The business then proceeded to outperform 2019 in both its Q2 and Q3 earnings of 2022, indicating that this could become a record year for the CTS Eventim group, which also lead’s Pollstar’s 2023 Magna Charta promoters ranking.

The full annual report for 2022 will be published on 23 March 2023 and will be available at corporate.eventim.de/en from that date.
