The Roots and Live Nation Urban have announced the return of Roots Picnic, highlighted by the hip-hop band sharing headlining duties with Diddy and a special performance from Ms. Lauryn Hill celebrating the 25th anniversary of her acclaimed debut album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

Hill will perform the entirety of the LP, which includes the singles “Doo Wop (That Thing),” “Ex-Factor,” and “Everything Is Everything.”

The 2023 edition of Roots Picnic takes place in The Roots’ hometown of Philadelphia June 3-4 at The Mann in Fairmount Park. But first, Dave Chappelle will get the weekend started with a June 2 set at the Wells Fargo Center in which he’ll be joined by The Roots.

The City of Brotherly Love is also represented with a set from Lil Uzi Vert, an appearance from Eve during Black Thought’s Live Mixtape set, DJ Drama, Kindred the Family Soul, a State Property Reunion (Freeway, Beanie Siegel, Young Gunz, Peedi Crakk, Oschino & Sparks) and more.
