2023 Women Of Live: Tara Traub
SVP, Global Touring | Live Nation
Few promoters could drop untitled American royalty as effortlessly and humbly as Tara Traub, Live Nation’s SVP of Global Touring when asked about her most impactful business success over the past year. “Harry Styles and Michelle Obama,” she says. “The most rewarding part of my job as a promoter is to help
clients’ visions come to life in new and creative ways.”
Mission accomplished and then some. Just ask some of the nearly one million people who took in these seminal figures’ wildly innovative shows. Styles’ widely lauded “Love on Tour” arena run won Major Tour of the Year at the 33rd Annual Pollstar Awards for its North American leg while performing in the round which had Hazza running miles upon miles every single show. Michelle Obama’s “The Light We Carry Tour: Overcoming in Uncertain Times,” was right on time and featured a revolving cast of esteemed moderators including Gayle King, Oprah Winfrey, Conan O’Brien, Tracee Ellis Ross, David Letterman, Tyler Perry, Hoda Kotb and Michele Norris.
C onsidering that Traub worked her way up over the past two decades from a Live Nation internship to the pinnacle of world’s largest promoter, speaks volumes about her talent, work ethic and higher purpose, which includes paving the way for others in this industry.
“I’m proud of the fact that Live Nation has more female promoters than ever before,” Traub says, “leading many of the industry’s most successful global tours with some of the biggest artists in the world. These promoters, and many other female leaders at Live Nation, were at the forefront of the record-breaking year for attendance and number of shows for the company last year. This group of incredible women is at the center of advancing the live industry and I’m excited to see diversity continue to increase across all verticals at Live Nation.
When asked who her mentor is and why, however, it’s one of Live Nation OGs. “Brad Wavra, Senior VP of Live Nation Touring,” she says unwaveringly. “He’s been my hero since I was 15 years old and I continue to value his opinions.”
